COMMANDER NSCDC TACTICAL FEMALE STRIKE FORCE VISITS GOC 3 DIVISION



The Commander Tactical Female Strike Force of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Plateau State Command, yesterday 22 June 2022 paid a courtesy call on the General Officer Commanding 3 Division and Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN Maj Gen IS Ali at the Division Headquarters.

The Female Strike Force was newly created by the NSCDC to strengthen school security across the nation. In her remarks, the Commander of the Tactical Female Strike Force, Superintendent of Corps, Rifkatu Margwa thanked the GOC for the warm reception accorded her and her team. She added that the Strike Force was created pursuant to the president’s “Safe School Initiative”, aimed at addressing the rampant cases of kidnap in the country.

She highlighted the activities of her team which includes safeguarding of schools, mounting of check points, visiting of schools to deliver lectures on security tips amongst others on the Plateau.

Superintendent Rifkatu appreciated the GOC for approving the training of its personnel by a team of Instructors from the Division and granting the approval for the NSCDC to use the 3 Division range facility.

The Comd sought collaboration with the NA Women’s Corps and sustained support of the NA to improve the capacity of its personnel for optimal performance.

Responding, the GOC appreciated the Female Strike Force for the visit. He noted that Headquarters 3 Division as well as Operation SAFE HAVEN has enjoyed a very good working relationship with the NSCDC in Plateau State. He stated that, just like the Nigerian Army Womens’ Corps, he believes they will discharge their duties professionally especially in curbing female criminality amongst others cases in Plateau State.

The GOC welcomed their readiness to synergise and collaborate with other security agencies and promised to render his support as necessary.

Present during the visit were Commander’s and Principal Staff Officers of the Division.
